Free public guided tours are offered every Tuesday and Thursday at 9:00 AM and run for approximately 45 minutes to one hour. Please meet your guide at the tarpon statue in front of the Patton Center.

Every April, Port Aransas hosts Texas SandFest, the largest native-sand sculpture competition in the United States. The three-day festival draws world-class sculptors and thousands of visitors to watch incredible sand sculptures take shape right on the beach. Visitors can also enjoy live music, food vendors, arts and crafts, and family-friendly activities. Proceeds from the event support local scholarships and charities, making Texas SandFest a celebration of art, community, and the coastal lifestyle.
The Deep Sea Roundup is the oldest fishing tournament on the Texas Gulf Coast and a cherished Port Aransas tradition. Held every July, the multi-day event features competitions for offshore, bay/surf, fly fishing, kayaking, and billfish release, along with youth contests like the “Piggy Perch.” Beyond fishing, the tournament includes community events and nightly awards, with proceeds supporting local scholarships. The Deep Sea Roundup combines sport, fun, and community spirit, making it a highlight of Port Aransas summer events.
